Does it look better if you take an advanced placement class and get a B or if you take an honors class and get an A?

I'm a junior in high school and i was wondering if it looks better to colleges if you take an advanced placement class and get a B or if you take an honors class and get an A?

Obviously, getting an A in an AP class is most impressive.  However, if you believe that is not possible, it is more important to take an AP and get a B.  Rigor of your curriculum is the first thing that colleges take a look at and the more rigorous your high school curriculum, the more prepared you’ll be in handling college coursework.
Also, if you get a B in the class but are able to score a  4 or 5 on the AP test, you’ll be able to advance to more challenging coursework your freshman year of college.

One exception:  If you are already taking four or five AP classes in one year, and you are struggling to keep up with the coursework, I encourage you to talk to your teachers and counselors about possibly lightening your load. Colleges want you to do well in the most rigorous courses possible; in other words, it doesn’t mean that you should get a C for trying.
