Will colleges still accept my application if I missed the deadline?  How much leeway do I really have if I missed the actual deadline?

You should never submit a late application.  It is your responsibility to know the deadlines for each of your colleges and submit your application in time; this is the first test of a student‚s maturity.  Of course, if there are extenuating circumstances, the college may still accept your application.  These are circumstances beyond your control, such as natural catastrophes.  If you feel that you have mitigating circumstances that prevent you from submitting an on-time application, you should speak with your guidance counselor who can speak to admissions office.
